The New Duvet

October 12, 2010
So, Lana and I were shopping in Carrefour the other day, and a stroke of brilliant marketing on their part cost me KD40 (80quid!), but has gone a long way to promote marital harmony. They had duvets on offer for KD5. “It’s a bargain,” I thought, “I might as well!” So in the trolley it went. And then we came across the duvet covers.

I realised then that my threadbare duvet covers that I have now just were not going to do any more. If I was going to get a new duvet, I should get new covers. But I couldn’t decide between the bright, sunshiny floral one or the cool, trendy patterned one. Then I realised I might as well get two, otherwise I’d just have to use a threadbare one between washes.

So here it is:

(Image: A bed with a bright orange and yellow duvet, with bright yellow flowers in a centre stripe. Lana is standing behind the bed, with plants surrounding her. You can also see a wedding photo of Kate and Marc in a sari and lunghi, on the beach.)

I found something else out as well…

Lana gives me the best pillows, and the best pillow cases. I thought at first this was because she loves me more than she loves Marc, but then I realised it’s probably because she’s afraid if I see the holes I’ll make her sew them up!!!

We love Lana!

Oh, the marital harmony thing? Well, this duvet is big enough for neither of us to have to pull on it any more!
