Our First Fish!

September 17, 2013

So, it’s 7.45am,  and we set off last night from Mussanah Marina to head off to India via Port Sultan Qaboos where we need to check out of the country.  Anyway,  i woke up an hour ago,  and minutes later,  Sultan caught a fish on his hand line! This is a big one,  so i guess we have a change of dinner plans tonight 🙂

Sultan, By the way is a very talented young instructor from OmanSail who we picked up to join us on the passage.  That makes watches much easier,  since we can actually get as much down time as wath time.  When we had three we did a rolling watch of six hours on to three hours off,  so keeping up with sleep got a little difficult in the end.
I’m guessing that next week when we’re halfway into the passage,  and the meat in the coolbox has all been eaten or gone bad, that we don’t catch any then!
