Snake Hunting?

Every time a crow lands on the spreaders to rest, I jump. I don’t know if you can see on this photo very well, but in the middle of it standing on the wall behind the shower block, is a group of seven young men all trying to catch a snake from the water.
They did catch it, with a big pole like the one the dock boy left on our pontoon. Then they seemed to be hammering it with something. Then to great screams they were swinging it around on a stick.
Then the kitchen guy in chef whites ran into the coffee shop kitchens to get a silver bowl to put it in.
I’m glad they caught it, but not so sure about using the shower room an
